The chief executive officer of Warri Wolves, Moses Etu, has praised the team for their spirited performance against Bayelsa United in a warm-up game at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in Yenogoa.
This comes after the Seasiders had a 1 – 1 draw with Bayelsa United.
Etu said his side held their own against a Bayelsa United team that had experienced Nigeria Professional Football League,NPFL, sweet merchants such as, Ojobo, Benard Okorowanta, Paul Godwin, amongst others, on its starting XI.
The CEO noted that they are not after the result but the effort put in by players in matches against experienced sides.
“I commend the boys for the result,” said Etu.
“Bayelsa United paraded NPFL players like Markson Ojobo, Benard Okorowanta, Paul Godwin. And apart from playing before their fans, they will not want defeat and somehow, we played a draw.”
” We are not really after the results but effort put in by the players,” he stated.
Warri Wolves will begin their campaign in the 2019/2020 NPFL season against Akwa United at the Warri City Stadium on November 3, 2019.
